Description

Young lovers Hero and Claudio are to be married in one week. To pass the time, they conspire with Don Pedro to set a "lover's trap" for Benedick, an arrogant bachelor, and Beatrice, his favorite sparring partner. Meanwhile, the villainous Don John plots against the happy couple, using his own form of trickery to try to destroy the marriage before it begins. Will a series of comic and tragic events keep the two couples from truly finding happiness, or will love prevail?

BU Shakespeare Society presents this classic comedy of reluctant lovers, jealous husbands, villainous trickery, comic foolishness, and great amounts of witty banter. Argued by some as Shakespeare's funniest play, this adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing is set in the early 1990s, making it a unique musical and aesthetic interpretation.

Performances will be April 16 and 17 at 8pm, and April 18 at 2pm and 8pm.
